What do you do here?
Nestled on 6.5 acres in Riverton, Utah, The Kinlands is a seasonal gathering place where food, beauty, nature, and community come together throughout the year.
January – June
The first half of the year is centered around gatherings. Throughout the winter and spring, The Kinlands hosts weddings, private events, workshops, concerts, Sunday brunches, and land-to-table dinners across the property. Whether gathering in the Garden House, Arbor House, Silo, or throughout the grounds, these months are filled with celebrations, shared meals, and opportunities to connect. As the gardens begin to bloom and the days grow longer, the property comes alive with people marking milestones, creating memories, and enjoying the beauty of the changing season.
July – September
Summer brings our Farmer's Market season, featuring local produce, flowers, baked goods, artisan foods, and thoughtfully curated goods from local makers. The grounds remain active with weddings, private events, dinners and community gatherings, offering countless opportunities to enjoy the beauty of the season.
September – October
As autumn arrives, The Kinlands transforms into our annual Pumpkin Patch. Families return for wagon rides, seasonal treats, pumpkins, cider, caramel apples, and traditions that celebrate the harvest season. While the farm embraces all things fall, the Garden House continues to host weddings, private events, dinners, and gatherings throughout the season, allowing guests to enjoy the beauty of autumn in a more intimate setting.
November – December
The holiday season brings fresh-cut Christmas trees, festive events, seasonal workshops, and our Holiday Shoppe. Filled with gifts, books, home goods, provisions, and holiday treasures, it is a place to slow down, celebrate the season, and create lasting memories with family and friends.
The Kinlands is more than a business to us - it is our life's work. Everything we create is rooted in a belief that beauty matters, gathering matters, and the changing seasons are meant to be celebrated. Our hope is that whether you join us for a wedding, a dinner, a shoppe day, a pumpkin patch tradition, or the search for the perfect Christmas tree, you'll leave feeling more connected to the people around you and the season you're in.
With gratitude,
Jen & Luke
Jen Winter
Meet Jen, the co-owner and Creative Director of The Kinlands, a creator with a vision strong enough to pull whole worlds into being. She isn’t interested in building another development or another place to shop. She is here to reshape how people experience beauty in everyday life and to show that spaces can feel soulful, connected, and alive without slipping into the familiar pattern of strip malls and uninspired design.
With 20 years of entrepreneurship guiding her, Jen’s work blends instinct, discipline, and wild creative force. She follows what feels true, and she protects what matters. Beneath her ease and warmth is a clarity that does not bend. She listens to the land, the seasons, and the subtle energy between people, shaping environments that help others feel those same threads of connection.
Animals are a constant in her creative language. They appear in symbolic, curious, and playful ways, carrying a mythic presence that reflects her deep love for the living world. Their influence brings a sense of guidance and magic to everything she touches.
Under Jen's direction, The Kinlands has grown into a place with its own personality, a living tapestry where makers, wanderers, families, and creatives intersect. Here, beauty is not surface-level decoration. It is a form of communication that changes how people move, slow down, and return to themselves.
Her core belief is simple. Everyday life should feel enchanted.
Jen builds spaces that ask people to look closer, breathe deeper, and remember that they are part of something interconnected and meaningful. She leads with intuition, seriousness, and an untamed creative spark that refuses to settle for anything less than what feels real.
Through her work, she invites others to imagine more for their own lives. More magic. More intention. More courage to choose what is true and beautiful.
Luke Petersen
Meet Luke, the co-owner of The Kinlands, whose life's work is to weave philosophy into the very fabric of this space, transforming it into a sanctuary where the Language of Life resonates with all who visit. Born and raised on the grounds of The Kinlands, Luke's deep-rooted connection to this place has guided its many evolutions, each one a step toward a vision where nature and knowledge converge. His journey took a significant turn during his Master's Degree studies when he visited the Cotswolds in England and fell in love with the vision of community gathering around fresh food and the joys of life. This inspiration fuels his passion for creating a space that nurtures connections and celebrates the simple pleasures of nourishment and togetherness.
With hands often found in the soil or crafting in the Shoppe, Luke embodies the spirit of The Kinlands, infusing the space with a sense of purpose and place. Whether he's exploring the cosmic dance of the universe or reviving the ancient art of Italian plaster, his actions are a testament to a life intertwined with the earth's rhythms. Luke's journey at The Kinlands is a constant exploration of growth, strength, and the profound teachings available to us through the natural world, making every visit a chance to connect, learn, and be inspired by the earth's enduring wisdom. Through his vision, Luke invites others to share in this collective experience, reinforcing the belief that the beauty of life lies in the moments we create together, grounded in a shared love for fresh food, community, and the interconnectedness of all living things.
