The photography area is located just outside our main woodland tree space, offering a bit more creative room while keeping you and your clients separate from our team’s workspace and guests shopping for their annual live Christmas trees.

It will be designed in true Kinlands style—flushed with evergreens, soft natural pathways, benches, and rustic backdrops that feel organic to the land. The space is intentionally simple yet artfully composed, allowing the natural textures, tones, and light to tell the story.

Please note that all other areas of The Kinlands are not permitted for photography during this time, as they remain open to our guests. We ask that you and your clients remain within the designated photography area to ensure a peaceful and respectful experience for everyone.

Each time slot is limited to only a handful of photographers, giving you ample time and space to capture the perfect shot while keeping the environment calm and unhurried.

The session fee reserves a 2 hour photography time slot. The start and end time for the two hours will be determined by the time slot you chose for your pass. Example: November 22nd @ 8:00 am. This means your pass expires at 10:00 am.

Photographers will have access to outdoor spaces ONLY. The Shoppe, Garden House, and inside any animal house is not allowed unless booked separately.

At this time we do not have any outdoor facilities for client changing, please plan on your clients being fully prepared for your session.

If your client session requires props, or wardrobe changes, then our two studios will need to be rented by the hour, please see the rental for the Garden House or Prim.

The basic photography passes do not cover photography shoots and need to be booked separately by reaching out to Ashlee@thekinlands.com.

Please bring a copy of your Photography Pass confirmation with you during your session.

Photographers are responsible for bringing any lighting or equipment needed for their shoot. Outside props are not permitted, but the woodland tree area is beautifully designed and offers many natural settings and backdrops to work with.

What to Inform Your Clients Before Arrival

Please let your clients know the following before their session:

• Parking: All guests should park in the south “overflow/event” lot.
• Setting: This is an outdoor photo pass experience with nature as the backdrop. No large props are permitted, and guests may not move or tamper with any items or natural features on the land.
• Responsibility: As the pass holder, you are responsible for ensuring your clients follow our terms and conditions and treat the property with respect.
• Check-In: There will be a check-in area on the northwest corner of the barn, where groups can meet to connect with their photographers before walking to the designated photography area.

Passes are limited and in high demand, therefore, we are not offering refunds once a pass has been purchased. However, if you are no longer able to make it, you can email us with the name of the person to whom we should transfer your pass to.

We require 5 business days notice prior to any registration adjustments. Any requests outside of the allotted time will not be accommodated.

Yes, we do welcome dogs-with a few important caveats:

1. All dogs must be on a leash at all times. Dogs found off-leash will be asked to leave-no exceptions.
2. Guests are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs and properly disposing of waste. Bags should not be left on the grounds.
3. Our Kinlands animal family is our top priority and must be respected. Dogs are not permitted to approach or harass our chickens, turkeys, cats, goats, horses, or emus.
4. Dogs are not allowed inside the Shoppe due to our resident Shoppe cats, Tiger and Foxy, who call it home. We ask that guests honor their space by omitting dogs from entering.

No, this is an outdoor shoot. Any lighting equipment must be provided by the photographer. We offer sessions around dawn and dusk to take advantage of natural sunlight during the golden hours.
